FL Connecting People to Services (6)

The Problem
Families struggle to find and navigate services. In Florida, 99.3% of public respondents said improving access to services is a top need. Caregivers shared that information is scattered across systems, making it hard to know where to start. Many want one simple, trusted place to find what they need.

Action
The Council partnered with experts and families to design a better solution. Research with caregivers identified what information and tools are most helpful. Using this input, the Council worked with national partners to begin building an easy-to-use online tool. Caregivers stayed involved through advisory groups and user testing to make sure the tool reflects real needs and experiences.

Results
The project created a strong foundation for the tool, including a website mockup and nine detailed sections covering key life areas like education, health, housing, and employment. Teams also developed 35 content modules with practical supports such as step-by-step guides, decision tools, and visual roadmaps. These are now being tested by users to ensure they are clear, relevant, and easy to use.

Unique Role of the Council
The Council brings together researchers, technical experts, and caregivers to create practical solutions. By centering real-life experiences, the Council is helping build a single, easy-to-navigate tool that will make it faster and simpler for families to access the services they need.
