PA Connecting People to Services (18)

The Problem
State agencies often work in separate systems with different rules, processes, and funding. This makes it very hard for individuals with disabilities and their families to navigate services, especially when their needs cross multiple agencies. Families can feel confused, frustrated, and disconnected from the support they need.

Action
The Council brought key partners together to break down these barriers. Working with the state DD agency, Department of Education, PA Training and Technical Assistance Network, and the Department of Labor and Industry, the Council helped launch the PA Partners for a Good Life Network. This new effort creates a shared space for agencies, families, and professionals to connect, share information, and work across systems.

Results
The first quarterly meeting, held March 6, 2026, brought together stakeholders from across Pennsylvania. Participants began sharing ideas, identifying challenges, and building relationships across systems. This collaboration is creating a stronger, more coordinated approach—making it easier for families to understand services and get the support they need.

Unique Role of the Council
The Council is a trusted connector across agencies and communities. By bringing partners together and fostering collaboration, the Council helps turn fragmented systems into more coordinated, accessible support for people with disabilities and their families.
